Do I need to self-host N8N?
You can self-host (Docker, bare metal, or cloud VM) or use N8N Cloud. The connector works with both.
How is this different from the Zapier connector?
Same Cliniko integration, different automation platform. N8N is open source, self-hostable, and has no per-execution costs. Choose N8N if you want full control, complex logic, or need data to stay on your infrastructure.
Is this suitable for non-developers?
N8N has a visual workflow builder similar to Zapier. However, it does require a bit more technical comfort — especially for self-hosting. If you want the simplest possible setup, the Zapier connector might be a better fit.
How do I install the connector?
Install via npm in your N8N instance (npm install n8n-nodes-cliniko — exact package name TBC). Restart N8N and the Cliniko nodes appear in your workflow editor.
